As per reports, Samy Naceri was sentenced on April 28, 2011. Paris Criminal Court had sentenced the actor to sixteen months in prison. Reportedly, Samy had stabbed a friend of his former companion in January 2009. Following the verdict, the French actor had appealed to the court on March 15 to not put such a heavy sentence on him as it would put an end to his career. Later, on March 16th, the court gave its final verdict. It was stated that the actor will have to serve five years in prison including three years and eight months suspended along with probation for three years.

It was also ordered that Samy Naceri will have to respect certain obligations that include follow-up of care, obligation to exercise a professional activity, and prohibition to meet the victim. The actor was also penalized with a €

5,000 fine for a road rage incident. According to the reports, he had smashed a car and had assaulted one of its occupants in the incident. However, it is not the first time he had been involved in such kinds of things. The actor was convicted for assault and had spent two months in jail. Samy was released in February 2006. He was again convicted in December 2016 for racially abusing police officers.
