Oscar the Grouch character has been portrayed by several artists as of now. In the teaser of Sesame Street Brett Goldstein met Oscar the Grouch and Big Bird, Big Bird can be seen asking Isn’t it a beautiful day? in the teaser and walking past a recycling bin and trash bin with Oscar the Grouch and Brett Goldstein in them. But both nodded their heads after turning to each other and returned to their bans as they were not seeming to be interested in Big Bird. The teaser has been captioned with “Grouches gonna grouch on Sesame Street and thanks for coming to our community @BrettGoldstein! We Love You”. There were rumors about Oscar the Grouch and people were searching about what happened to Oscar but Oscar did not exactly leave the show, but the muppet character transitioned to a new voiceover after Caroll Spinney’s decision to leave the show. Oscar and Big Bird’s voiceovers had been given by Caroll Spinney since 1969 but in 2015 he stopped playing the character of Oscar full-time however he gave the voiceover for Oscar in the 46th and 47th seasons of the show.
After Caroll’s departure from the show, Eric Jacobson started portraying the Oscar character in 2015 and Caroll retired from the profession in 2019 October and unfortunately passed away in the same year in the month of December at the age of 85 years due to complications of dystonia. Jon Stone and Jim Henson are the creators of Oscar the Grouch that has been played by several actors throughout the years. At the beginning of the show, Oscar was an orange-colored furry character in season one and later his color was changed to green by Jim Henson.
