Oscar-winning producer Jon Landau announced the news of David’s demise on Twitter to post his condolences.
The producer said in his post, We have lost a very dear member of the Avatar family. David Brenner was an editor extraordinaire on the Avatar sequels. Our hearts go out to his wife Amber and their children Annie, Haider, and Sasha. His talent compassion and friendship will be truly missed.

David Norris Brenner was born on 4 February 1936, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, United States. he was born to Jewish parents in 1936 and raised in South and West Philadelphia. his father, Louis was a vaudeville comedian, singer, and dancer performing under the stage name of Lou Murphy. Lou Murphy gave his career and a film contract to please Brenner’s grandfather, a rabbi who objected to his working on the Sabbath.
After high school he spent two years in U.S Army, serving in the 101st Airborne and as a cryptographer of the 595th Signal Crops in Booblingen, Germany.
Brenner had three children- cole, Slade, and Wyatt. he and the mother of Cole, his first son, fought a custody battle for several years. and he finally won child custody in 1192.
he married Elizabeth Slater of New York, the mother of his sons Slade and Wyatt.
