He was a Democratic Unionist Party Member of the Northern Ireland Assembly for South Belfast from 2016 until his death. He studied at Queen’s University Belfast and Wellington College Belfast.
After completing his graduation, he worked in the office of Peter Weir two days a week, and three days a week in the European office of Jim Allister. He was married to Laura Stalford and the couple had four children together and their names are Cameron, Abigail, Trinity, and Oliver. Her wife is disheartened by his death. He died on 19 February 2022 at the age of 39.

He further added that “He talked about his eldest child transferring to big school and the discussions that were ongoing in the home.”
Michelle O’Neill, the vice-president of Sinn Fein who was the deputy first minister of Northern Ireland until earlier this month, extended her condolences, tweeting that “Desperately sad news of the sudden death of DUP Assemblymember Christopher Stalford.” Brandon Lewis, the secretary of state for Northern Ireland, also expressed his sympathies on social media adding that “As Principal Deputy Speaker and MLA, Christopher was passionate about crucial problems that affected people across Northern Ireland and was dedicated to building a better NI for everyone.”
