Vladimir Zhoga was a Neo-Nazi warlord and commander of the Sparta Battalion who was shot to death in Volnovakha on Saturday, 5th of March 2022. Who Is Vladimir Zhoga?
Vladimir Zhoga was shot to demise in Volnovakha, Ukraine. He is the 3rd senior officer to lose his life at the time of the crisis. The demise of Zhoga was asserted through a Telegram post from Denis Pushilin on Sunday, 6th of March, 2022. As per accounts, Zhoga passed away as a consequence of wounds sustained at the time of an operation to guarantee the safe evacuation of the civilians of Volnovakha.
In the post-Pushilin penned: “Today the commander of the Sparta separate reconnaissance battalion, Guards Col. Vladimir Zhoga (nom de guerre Vokha) passed away like a heroin Volnovakha. Sparta men were providing a cover for the evacuation of civilians, mostly children, and ladies. Nationalists opened fire at them,” wrote Pushilin.
Prior to Zhoga, the Russians had lost Major General Andrei Sukhovetsky. He was assassinated in the battle for Hostomel airfield in Kyiv.

Vladimir Zhoga and his group have been battling in Ukraine since in the year 2014. He became the leader of the group in the year 2016 after Arsen Pavlov. Zhoga was known for brutal war crimes and shooting Ukrainian POWs, as stated in the news outlet. Previously, the Sparta Battalion directed by him has taken part in fights for Slavyansk and the airport of Donetsk.
The group has also been waging battle in the Donbas region and has been behind a series of deadly assails on the Ukrainian military. The warlord who is also known as “Voha” has been explained as a short, very calm, laconic young man with a small beard. Vladimir Putin who is the President of Russia has signed the Executive Order on awarding the title of Hero of the Russian Federation to Vladimir Zhoga.
As said in Kremlin: “The title of Hero of the Russian Federation has been awarded to Vladimir Zhoga (posthumously) for acts of heroism and courage while fulfilling his civic duty.”
