State Legislative Assembly general elections have been sweeping the attention of the people all around the country. The candidates who have gotten selected to compete in the elections are also making headlines as the public is interested to know about the faces of the respective political parties. Godavari Thapli has gained the limelight too as she is the face of the Congress from the Mussoorie Assembly seat and is all set for the upcoming Uttrakhand Legislative Assembly Elections 2022. Ever since her name was announced, she has created a lot of buzzes. Find out, why?
Godavari Thapli will compete against a bunch of strong contenders in the upcoming State Legislative Assembly elections which will take place in February this year. However, she is also facing resistance from her Kalpana Gurung, her own cousin sister. For those unversed, Kalpana is a BJP (Bharatiya Janta Party) member and is campaigning for a BJP candidate, Ganesh Joshi, from the same constituency and is giving a tough competition to Godavari.
Who Is Godavari Thapli?
This entire scenario has made the elections in the state even more interesting and has been gaining huge attention from the public as everyone is talking about it. Godavari Thapli is facing resistance from her cousin Kalpana Gurung who has recently joined BJP after getting attracted by the party’s ideologies and the efforts of the Prime Minister along with Ganesh Joshi, the current MLA and BJP candidate from Mussoorie for Uttrakhand Elections 2022.
Talking about Ganesh Joshi, Kalpana said that he is a mass leader who treats the opinions of women and men equally and slammed the Congress party for not considering women’s opinions. Gurung added that the Congress party has used women just as a vote bank and has not done anything for them which is the reason why she left the party in the first place. While addressing the matter, Godavari stated that BJP has intentionally put her sister against her so that they can distract the public from important issues like unemployment, LPG price hike and more.
Godavari called it the party’s tactic as BJP has understood their potential loss in the elections this year. She added that it does not matter who is campaigning against, she will give everyone a befitting reply even if it is her sister. The banter has become the current highlight of the Mussorie Assembly seat. The elections will be held on February 14 where the public will cast their respective votes while the results of the elections will be announced on March 10.
