It is saddened news for the boxing community as they lost one of the most talented and powerful boxers, Hero Tito. Yes, the Indonesian boxer whose birth name is Heru Purwanto but gained his popular by his ring name Hero Tito has tragically passed away at the age of 35. The boxer took his last breath just after his knockout loss to James Mokoginta. According to the sources, Heru Purwento fell into a coma after his defeat by countryman Mokoginta in their last fight in the Indonesian Lightweight title on February 27.
Well, the sources say that just a minute left in the seventh round of their rematch, Mokoginta played a brutal uppercut due to which, Purwanto laid on the canvas. At the time, the referee gave him count but he was still badly hurt and unable to stand on his feet once again. Then, he fell back down on the canvas as the fight reached its final stage. Before taking him out on a stretcher, Purwanto was fallen down for several minutes at the same place and Paramedic rushed to the ring to check on his health. His opponent Mokoginta looked concerned at the time.

Then, he was taken to the local hospital as soon as possible after the loss where the doctor and emergency staff tried to save his life but unfortunately, Heru sadly passed away on March 7 after spending a week in a coma. Due to his injuries, he couldn’t survive and lost his life. Since the news of his passing broke the headlines on social media, his loved ones and fans paid tribute to him and expressed their deep condolence to him.
The boxing promoter of Purwanto, Rosa Kusuma released a statement on a behalf of his wife, Didin Nurul Wijayanti. The post reads,” She thanks all the boxing people who always give support and prayers for Hero Tito. Thank you for all your kindness to us and our family”. This weekend, he was scheduled to fight and the match would have been played in Australia if he was alive. He was also advised not to compete against Mokoginta but he insisted that he need the prize money which was $1,300 to help his family to build their house.

His wife said that the money will be used to help finish building their house. It is heartbreaking for his family and loved ones. The whole family is suffering from a hard time and couldn’t forget the sacrifice of Heru Purwanto. Hero Tito will be remembered by his loved ones and friends.
