Three months in the past, Nordberg spoke about how he landed the DEICIDE gig in an interview with “The Zach Moonshine Present”. He mentioned: “In 2019, my band THE ABSENCE toured with DEICIDE within the U.S. And we obtained to know the fellows and obtained alongside rather well. And I truly came upon that Glen [Benton, DEICIDE frontman] lives, like, two streets over from Jeramie [Kling, THE ABSENCE drummer] and I, the place we reside. So Jeramie and Glen grew to become good buddies they usually journey bikes all of the instances. It is a humorous little factor, eager about that. However lengthy story quick, [previous DEICIDE guitarist] Chris [Cannella], I imagine he is the pinnacle of A&R at Dean Guitars so he is specializing in that for proper now. I heard that they wanted a guitar participant, so I realized a few songs, made a few movies, and Glen noticed ’em and appreciated what he noticed. So we had a few practices, and bing bang increase, right here we’re.”

Cannella amicably left DEICIDE in January after a three-year run.

When Benton first introduced Nordberg‘s addition to DEICIDE, he mentioned in an announcement: “We’re happy to announce and welcome Taylor Nordberg to the DEICIDE household! An incredible and completed guitarist who takes our sound to the subsequent stage and brings a profound stage of professionalism that completes and compliments the DEICIDE machine!”

Cannella mentioned in a separate assertion: “Sure, it’s true. I’m not in DEICIDE. There isn’t a drama and all of us stored it quiet as to not lead into drama or hypothesis.

“I’ve all of the love and respect for Glen, Steve and Kevin. I had so many nice instances during the last three years I cherish for a lifetime, particularly the friendship.

“Cheers to all and thanks for all of the love and assist. I am excited for what’s to return.”

Cannella joined DEICIDE in 2019 following the departure of guitarist Mark English.

English grew to become a member of DEICIDE in 2016 after the exit of longtime guitarist Jack Owen.

In February, Nordberg was requested in an interview with the “Brews N Tunes” podcast if he and his new bandmates have commenced work on the follow-up to 2018’s “Overtures Of Blasphemy” album. He responded: “They’d began many of the new album earlier than I joined, however since asserting [that we are going to celebrate the 30th anniversary of DEICIDE‘s sophomore album] ‘Legion’ [by performing the LP in its entirety], we have type of shifted gears and we’re making an attempt to lock that in and get a set prepped simply within the occasion {that a} present pops up. However they’ve many of the new album prepped, after which we’re hammering out, ironing out some particulars with the final couple songs. So hopefully that shall be out this yr. I do not know any concrete plans on once we’re gonna begin pre-production or recording or any of that. However hopefully this yr. That might be superior. However the materials is sounding killer. It seems like DEICIDE.”

“Overtures Of Blasphemy” was launched in September 2018 through Century Media.
