Recently, a video surfaced on the internet that shocked everyone. The viral video featured several Boda Boda riders assaulting a female motorist. The shocking incident happened on Nairobi’s Forest Road on Monday morning, March 7, 2022. The incident occurred after the woman was involved in a minor accident with a Boda Boda rider. The video was shared on the Sikika Road Safety Facebook page where the woman can be seen crying for help as the riders accosted her. The riders were also heard threatening the lady to destroy her vehicle. They tried to eject the young lady from her vehicle so that they can take revenge on her as she met with a minor accident with one of the riders. However, she managed to keep herself seated.
It was evident from her face that she was fearing for her life. Well, it is obvious for anyone to feel so. Now, the video of the said incident has been surfacing on social media. It is getting shared on Instagram, Twitter, and other platforms and is grabbing the attention of the netizens. The horrifying incident has become the topic of discussion among many as everyone is showing their concern for the woman sitting inside her vehicle while she is getting harassed by several rowdy riders.
It is also reported that the riders were trying to undress her but the woman fought back them while remaining on her seat and saved her dignity as well. As the video surfaced on the internet, the netizens demanded strict action to take place. As per reports, almost 200 Boda Boda riders have gotten arrested in a night crackdown on Monday itself after the sexual assault of the female motorist.
Hilary Mutyambai, Inspector-General of Police, stated that they have arrested the suspects as part of an operation while searching for the real culprits who attacked the woman. Mutyambai said that they have around 229 riders in custody while they have seized almost 913 motors. Let us add that the operation started soon after the video was circulated on the internet. The general said that they do not condone such criminal acts and added that those responsible will have to face justice.
