Sudhir was ill for the past few days. Because of the illness, he was admitted to Jaslok Hospital in Mumbai on January 14. As per the doctors, he had contracted coronary heart disease. According to some sources Joshi had Covid-19 but had recovered last week. Sudhir Joshi was a nephew of a former chief minister. Joshi was among the first-generation Sena leaders and was actively involved in the party’s Stanik Lokadhikar Samiti, which was set up to provide jobs to locals. Sudhir was born on 25 May 1940. he started his career as a corporation in the BMC in 1968. In the BMC elections of 1973, shiv Sena won elections and he become a Corporator again. after that he was elected to the post of Mayor of Mumbai with the support of congress. he remained his duty as a Corporator from 1974 to 1978. Sudhir was the first mayor from Shiv Sena.
In 1986, Sudhir was elected as a member of the Legislative Council in Maharashtra. he was a member of the Legislative council till 1999. During this time from 1992-1995, he was the leader of the opposition in the Vidhan Parishad. in 1995 during the BJP and Shiv Sena alliance he was allowed the portfolios of Revenue Minister and School Education Minister. he was also the president of the Sthaniya Lokadhikar Samiti for 20 years. After holding the two ministerial portfolios for two years, he resigned from the post. Under his leadership, he also provided jobs for many native Maharashtrians in Mumbai’s 5-star hotels, banks, the insurance sector, multinational companies, etc.
