The name of the arrested officer is Arvind Digvijay Negi, who was with the agency and is presently appointed as Superintendent of Police (SP) Shimla, in link with its investigation Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) Over Ground Workers (OGWs) network case. The National Investigation Agency (NIA) in an official statement stated that “At the time of its probe, the role of AD Negi, IPS, SP assigned at Shimla (since repatriated from NIA) was verified and his houses were searched. It was also discovered that official secret documents of the NIA were leaked by AD Negi to another indicted person, who is an OGW of LeT in the case.”
The NIA stated, the case, which was registered on 6th November 2021 concerns the spread of a widespread network of OGWs of boycott terror outfit LeT in Jammu & Kashmir and other places, for providing support in the planning and implementation of terrorist activities in India. Earlier the NIA had apprehended 6 blamable persons in the case, as the further probe continued it added.
In the year 2017, he was among the officers awarded the police medal for praiseworthy service. A Himachal Pradesh-cadre officer, Negi was promoted to the IPS in the year 2016.

At the time of his tenure with the NIA, Negi handled numerous sensitive investigations, including the probe into claimed funding of Hurriyat leaders in Kashmir, and the apprehend of activist Wahid Parra, among others. Case Against Arvind Digvijay Negi
The case lodged against Negi on 6th November of last year pertains to the spread of a network of OGWs (Over Ground Workers) of LeT (Lashkar e Taiba), a forbid terrorist organization. The detectives believe that information shared by the IPS officer aid the LeT plan and execute terrorist activities in India. Earlier the NIA had apprehended 6 arraigned in link with the case.
The NIA also suspects that Arvind Digvijay Negi might have passed on sensitive information to human rights activist Khurram Parvez, who was apprehended in November 2021, under the Unlawful Activities Prevention Act (UAPA). The detectives landed on the trail of Negi on the basis of a tip-off about him from the Intelligence Bureau (IB). The tip-off direct to raids on premises in 3 locations including Kinnaur which is in Himachal Pradesh on 22nd November of last year. The other 2 premises raided by NIA were located in Srinagar’s Sonawar and Amirakadal, the residence and office of Khurram Parvez.
