Who Was Mia Bezar?

Mia Bezar was a Philadelphia native who attended the William Penn Charter and Baldwin Schools before she came to Penn. Reportedly, she was studying political science in the College of Arts and Sciences along with minors in urban studies and French and Francophone studies. The people who were close to her say that she was passionate about environmental policy and climate change.

It is reported that she also worked at the climate think tank Earth Refuge as a partnerships and public relations officer. Mia had also started the Philadelphia Spotlight Series while working at Earth Refuge. Besides, for eight years, Mia was involved in Model United Nations and in her short life, she served as Under-Secretary-General at Penn’s Model UN Economic and Social Council. Bezar’s death has affected all her classmates, friends, and family.
