According to the sources, Netflix is bringing a series for its streamers that seems to be linked to the hack of 120,000 BTC. The upcoming documentary will be based on the New York couple and their laundering of nearly 120,000 BTC related to the crime. Netflix is one of the most powerful and trending streaming platforms and the platform will produce a documentary series soon on the infamous Bitfinex hack.

The upcoming documentary is totally based around the New York couple and their links to laundering nearly 120,000 BTC. Well, the reports are revealing that the documentary will be directed by American filmmakers Chris Smith and the co-executive producer is Nick Bilton. The statement reads,” Netflix has ordered a documentary series about a married couple’s alleged scheme to launder billions of dollars worth of stolen cryptocurrency in the biggest criminal financial crime case in history”.
Well, the plot of the series has not been revealed yet but there will be two main characters in the series who will take this series forward – Ilya Lichtenstein and Heather Morgan. They both are a couple and linked to the 120,000 BTC heist and they were totally involved in laundering the stolen funds. The streaming platform also noted that as the value of the stolen Bitcoin raised from $71 million to nearly $5 billion. Morgan and Lichtenstein tried to liquidate their digital currency by creating their fake identities, online accounts, and buying physical gold, NFTs, and many more. At the time, the investigators of this case were on the race to track the money’s movement on the blockchain.
Along with this, the Cointelegraph also tracked the movement of those stolen funds with the movement dating back. The cyber vigilante tracked down a group of decentralized finance (DeFi) scammers who were totally responsible for stealing a $25 million StableMagnet rug pull. Later, the stolen money was returned to the investors. Many details of the documentary have not been revealed by the makers. It will be streamed on Netflix.
