ISLAMABAD: Retired Lt Gen Ishfaq Nadeem Ahmed, previous head of the overall staff (CGS) and ex-chief general military tasks (DGMO) was let go at H-8 Graveyard on Friday. He was 56 years old. As indicated by a relative, Gen Ahmed experienced heart failure at his home in Bahria Enclave on Friday morning and was taken to the emergency clinic where he was articulated dead. Head of Army Staff Gen Qamar Javed Bajwa and an enormous number of serving and resigned armed force officials were among the people who went to the burial service petitions at the H-8 Graveyard.
Gen Ahmed was second on the status list in 2016 after the head of general staff Lt Gen Zubair Hayat when the then PM Nawaz Sharif designated Lt Gen Qamar Javed Bajwa, who was the monitor general preparing and a***essment around then, as the military boss. It is said that the outline for the fruitful activity Zarb-I-Azab had been arranged by Gen Ahmed as the DGMO. He participated in the Swat activity as a significant general and served in Waziristan as a brigadier. After his retirement in 2017, Gen Ahmed had joined Mari Petroleum Company.
