The Internet and the health community are mourning the passing of beloved Dr. Mwele Ntuli Malecela. She was the head of the World Health Organization’s Division of Prevention of Ignored Diseases.
According to Internet sources, the Doctor has passed away on Wednesday night, February 10, 2022. The Doctor took her last breath in Zurich, Swiss. Dr. Mwele Ntuli Malecela was one of the best and most talented directors of the Department of Control of Neglected Tropical Diseases at the WHO.

His love has been broken from inside after learning of the sudden passing of her. She was the best in her work and always supported her colleagues. According to the sources, she was appointed to the position on October 5, 2018.
The doctor was one of them who had extensive experience in government wellbeing. In the election of 2015, she was handling the office under the Chama Cha Mapinduzi banner. Now, her family is suffering from a difficult time. Being a doctor, Mwele Ntuli Malecela had a political career. She also joined Tanzania’s ruling party, Chama Cha Mapinduzi (CCM) in 1981 when she was at KilaKala.
Many big politicians and officials paid tribute to the doctor and expressed their brief. She was an excellent doctor who always helped others. Unfortunately, Dr. Mwele Ntuli Malecela took her last breath on February 10, 2022 in Zurich, Swiss. She has been chief of Critical Disease Prevention at the United Nations (WHO). The news of her death was confirmed officially.
She was born on March 26, 1963. She completed her graduation in Zoology at the University of Dar es Salaam. Later, she joined the National Institute for Medical Research (NIMR) in 1987. She worked at the Amani Center to complete her research on Lymphatic filariasis.
Dr. Mwele Ntuli Malecela Passed Away
Mwele Ntuli Malecela continued her education and completed her MSc and PhD at the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine. She became a Director of Research Coordination and Promotion (DRCP) in 1998 before becoming a Director of the Lymphatic Filariasis program in 2000.
She had a good life with her family, friends, and colleagues, where she worked. She used to spend her time in research and helping others. Many people are missing and sharing their sadness on the Internet. She must be an excellent lady. Mwele Ntuli Malecela will be always remembered by her family and friends.
